A Sworn Tesomony by Paul Bloudine Jr. about the lot (Nov. 14 1878):
HBC sold it to Norbert Lawerence however he never occupied the land so he forfeited his right to it. HBC than sold it to Paul Bloudine Sr. for 18 pounds that HBC kept from his wage 32 years ago, 1844, when Paul Jr. was about 19. He lived on the lot with his father for a while prior to the transfer of the province to the Country of the Dominion. This was after doing work up north. During the occupation of the lot he built a house on the south half of the land and that his dad gave to him. The father also built a house that later became a stable for James Tweedie. They also ploughed part of the land to grow potatoes but had no need to cultivate anymore to grow grain because the prairie furnished for their horses and cows. On the land they hunted and fished to make a living as ‘half breeds’ usually did, on such adventured the whole family usually went.
Paul Jr. bought a lot on Assiniboine, built a house and found a wife. He lived there 3 or 4 years, then sold to James Mulligan. He went up north working for the HBC bringing his wife along (as custom). Worked for around 3 years then returned to the Red River Settlement. They lived around in different places and as of 1878 he had a house on Shoal lake but resided in a house of Mr. Clarke above Winnipeg. His brother Antoine died around 2 years prior to the transferrin St. Vital.
